100 years, the name Cord Meyer has stood for foresight, thorough planning,
and follow through in the development and management of commercial
and residential properties throughout Queens and the Greater Metropolitan
area. For its clients, the Cord Meyer name has been synonymous with

clients and the communities it serves. Starting with Cord Meyer's purchase
and residential development of farmland in Elmhurst, Queens, just before
the turn of the 20th Century, this family-owned enterprise has grown
into a vast business with annual revenues that continue to climb each
and every year to the delight of its shareholders. Cord Meyer Development
Company has expanded from residential development into the development
and leasing of commercial space, including offices and retail outlets.
The majority of their properties are in Queens, and some on Long Island.
The crown jewel of the organization’s properties is The Bay Terrace,
a major life style/specialty Center located in Bayside, Queens. Its
original 53 stores, multiplex theatre, post office and free parking
covers approximately 300,000 s.f. Its tenants are a veritable "Who's
Who's of retail businesses, including The Gap, Banes & Noble, Victoria's
Secret and Ann Taylor Loft. In Forest Hills, a community named and
developed by Cord Meyer Jr., stands the 10 story award winning Cord
Meyer Office Building, located at 108-18 Queens Boulevard. Nearby,
at 111-15 Queens Boulevard, is the Forester building, hosting a 64,500
square foot structure, with residential, commercial units and a garage.
The modest Queens Windsor building at 108-36/50 Queens Boulevard has
both offices and retail, with a new Commerce Bank becoming the anchor
of the building. Cord Meyer had operated a number of apartment buildings
in Queens and was successful in converting all to Cooperative Apartment
buildings. Additional retail space is located on Austin Street in Forest
Hills, Jackson Heights, and Continental Avenue. As Cord Meyer Development
Company was incorporated in 1904, and later converting to Cord Meyer
Development LLC in 1997, it moves into its next 100 years with a vision
to expand its commercial and residential base in Queens and shall seek
other opportunities in and outside the metropolitan area. For the first
time in Cord Meyer's history, the Company is being led by non family
members, Mr. Sal Panico and Mr. Anthony J. Colletti..
Sal Panico is certainly no stranger
to Cord Meyer, as he's been affiliated with the Company over 12 years.
Sal was the chief
consultant on all of Cord Meyer and Cord Meyer's affiliate companies
development projects starting with the additions at The Bay Terrace,
Bayside, to the Woodside Shopping Center on Northern Boulevard, Jackson
Heights. Sal's
sharp insight, experience, and knowledge of construction and development
made perfect sense in being chosen as Cord Meyer's new CEO. His talents
will move Cord Meyer in new and exciting directions! Anthony J. Colletti,
who started 20 years ago as Controller of Cord Meyer, with a well deserved
promotion to Chief Financial Officer, is Cord Meyer's most valuable
asset. His knowledge of Cord Meyer along with his continued energy
to strive for excellence motivates the entire Cord Meyer staff, resulting
in Cord Meyer's great successes! In a short period of time, both Sal
and Anthony have all ready made record breaking accomplishments by
increasing the Companies revenues over the last two years, as well
as purchasing the Bergen Hills golf course, sale of 31st Avenue property
in Woodside, and the future sale of Ocean Park property. Cord Meyer
will also be entering into the residential market again by constructing
a 21 story luxury condominium building located in the heart of Forest
Hills. In moving forward. Cord Meyer Development LLC shall continue
to maintain its integrity and fine reputation in the development and
management of its Real Estate properties.
